Chair and Vice Chair Acclaimed at Annual Meeting

Trustee Deborah Massaro has been acclaimed for a sixth consecutive term as Chair of the Lakehead District School Board at this evening’s Annual Meeting of the Lakehead District School Board. Trustee Karen Wilson was acclaimed for a fourth term as Vice Chair of the Lakehead District School Board.

Other Board positions determined at the meeting include:

• Member of the Coordinating Committee
  Trustee Marg Arnone
   
• Coordinating Committee Alternate
  Trustee Pat Johansen

“I anticipate that this coming year will be a year of challenges and opportunities for Lakehead Public Schools,” says Chair Deborah Massaro. “I look forward to working with Trustees and Lakehead Public Schools Administration in realizing the goals and objectives contained in our Strategic Plan. The Plan continues to be the foundation of our actions as we focus on student success.”

During the Annual meeting the following committees presented their annual reports to the Board:

• Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee
• Special Education Advisory Committee
• Parent Involvement Committee

The 2012 Director’s Annual Report was also presented to the Board at this evening’s Annual Meeting. The report provides an update on the progress and key actions utilized in meeting the goals and objectives of this year’s Strategic Plan.
