Next to Robert Burns Day and Hogmanay (aka New Year’s), there is no other day like International Bagpipe Day for Scots around the world! THE Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay brought the sounds of the Auld Country to the students and staff of Agnew H. Johnston Public School on Friday, March 10, International Bagpipe Day.
“March the 10th is recognized by the International Bagpipe Society as a special day to celebrate the world’s many bagpipes and piping traditions,” says Ryan Moore, member of THE Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay and Agnew H. Johnston Public School Parent. “We look forward to sharing the music and traditions of the bagpipes with the students and staff of Agnew H. Johnston Public School.”
THE Pipes and Drums of Thunder Bay provided a demonstration of the music and artifacts associated with this time honoured craft and traditions.
