The Great Outdoors will be celebrated in style at Kingsway Park Public School on Friday, September 14 in advance of National Hunting, Trapping and Fishing Heritage Day on Saturday, September 15. The celebration will highlight the outdoor, hunting and fishing opportunities that abound in Ontario.
“We are extremely fortunate to live in a province where we can enjoy so many opportunities and venues to camp, fish and hunt,” says Darren Lentz, Principal of Kingsway Park Public School. “Our students will be able to learn more about how they can participate in outdoor activities with their families.”
During the morning of Friday, September 14, students will have the opportunity to visit a number of booths in the school lobby staffed by the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Sportsman’s Alliance, National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP®) and the Thunder Bay Trappers Association. Students will also be able to participate in a 3D archery competition in the gym along with a fishing and casting demonstration outside. The day will also feature a family outdoor photography contest and everyone will be encouraged to wear camo or hunter orange!
