Students at Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate and Vocational Institute are helping local women in crisis. Through December’s White Ribbon Campaign to commemorate National Day of Remembrance and Action on violence against Women, students collected goods and funds for the Faye Peterson House.
“Our students are very passionate about their community and as such, they are ready and willing to help address a variety of local issues,” says Ryan McDonnell, Vice Principal at Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate and Vocational Institute. “They have a number of other activities planned for the future.”
The Churchill students will be planning an event for International Women’s Day on Thursday, March 8 and a women’s heath event for the spring.
The Executive Director for Faye Peterson House will visit Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate and Vocational Institute on Monday, January 22 at 3:00 p.m. to collect the donated goods and funds.
