Secondary Technology students at Lakehead Public Schools will have further opportunities for success thanks to a partnership between DeWalt Tools and Skills Canada. The Technology programs will be receiving a collection of new and moderately used tools. Some of the tools were used in the recent Skills Canada competitions. The donation of the tools is worth close to $5,000 and will be disbursed to all public secondary schools.
“This generous donation through the partnership between DeWalt Tools and Skills Canada further enables our students to have the opportunity to learn with industry relevant tools and equipment,” says Jeremy Noel, Lakehead Public Schools Student Success Resource Teacher. “Generous donations such as this only contribute to the success of our students as they prepare for apprenticeships and workplace destinations following secondary school.”

Skills Canada was founded in 1989 as a national, not-for-profit organization that works with employers, educators, labour groups and governments to promote skilled trades and technology careers among Canadian youth. Its unique position among private and public sector partners enables it to work toward securing Canada’s future skilled labour needs while helping young people and aspiring apprentices discover rewarding careers.
