While most Peregrine Falcons of the northwest are flying south for the winter, one is heading north. On Tuesday, September 22, the Ontario Power Generation Northwest Operation’s Corporate Citizenship Program will conduct a workshop with a live, species at risk Peregrine Falcon at Kingsway Park School.
Ontario Power Generation Northwest Operation’s Corporate Citizenship Program has provided support to enable The Canadian Peregrine Foundation to present their “Project School Visit” environmental education workshops to area schools.
Due to the remoteness of the peregrine cliff nest sites there are very few children in the north who would ever get a chance to see a live Peregrine Falcon up close. This program will help build a better understanding of the human impact on our environment and its wildlife and bring the curriculum to life for the students, the next generation of Ontario’s natural and wildlife stewards.
