Ecole Gron Morgan Public Schools and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit are hosting a parent engagement adventure play day on Wednesday, April 25 with educator Pierre Harrison from PLAYLearnThink. The session begins by engaging the children in adventure play and then offer an information session for parents and caregivers about the importance of play to children’s healthy intellectual, emotional, social and physical development.
Mr. Harrison believes that play is the essential element necessary to create a solid foundation on which to build a healthy, fulfilling life of learning.
“The Adventure Play Day space will be a children’s wonderland filled with a large variety of loose parts and tools. It is a space where children are in charge, which leads to soaring creativity, astonishing feats of problem solving and an abundance of self-confidence. It is a place where families come together to play and strengthen community ties,” says Pierre Harrison, Founder, PLAYLearnThink.
