The Board’s primary objective is to obtain maximum value for public funds expended through a process that ensures that all qualified vendors are treated fairly and that the LDSB’s character values are upheld.

The acquisition of all goods, services and construction requirements are procured according to Board Policy and Procedures which are aligned with the Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives, Supply Chain Code of Ethics, and the requirements of the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and Canada Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).

To increase accountability within Lakehead District School Board, effective control is achieved with the delegation of authority and segregation of duties across functions and individuals.
