It’s not the Batmobile, it’s the code:mobile! Nor’wester View Public School students will have the opportunity to learn beginner-friendly computer programming and other technical skills in a social and collaborative way through the Ladies Learning Code’s code:mobile! Nor’wester View Public School is one stop on a 35,000 km journey with a mission to teach over 10,000 kids how to code.
“This unique program encourages boys and girls to be passionate builders, not just technology consumers” says Erin Aylward, Principal of Nor’wester View Public Schools. “The code:mobile is like a computer lab on wheels. We are excited to be able to provide this opportunity for our students.”
Ladies Learning Code is a Canada-wide not-for-profit organization that runs workshops for women and youth who want to learn beginner-friendly computer programming and other technical skills in a social and collaborative way. Today they have 22 chapters (and counting) across Canada, a thriving girls’ program called Girls Learning Code and co-ed kids program called Kids Learning Code and a big goal to teach 200,000 Canadian women and youth to code by 2020.
