To the Hammarskjold High School Community,

This letter is to provide an update on the ongoing public health investigation and management following the identification of an individual with COVID-19 associated with Hammarskjold High School. We continue to take actions to monitor the situation and assess for any evidence that spread of the virus may have happened at the school. As usual, we will always directly contact individuals or families when we determine that someone may be a close contact or at higher risk of having acquired the virus.

At this point, no additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified and we have no evidence that the virus has spread in the school setting. While this is reassuring at this time, ongoing vigilance will be maintained until the full risk period has passed.

Note that TBDHU will advise the individuals currently excluded from in-person attendance at the school and the school itself when it is safe for these individuals to return.

Thank you all for your cooperation in this process. For further information about COVID- 19 and schools, please refer to the TBDHU website: TBDHU.com/stopgerms and TBDHU.com/safereturn_parents.

Sincerely,

Janet DeMille, MD, CCFP, FRCPC Medical Officer of Health
