Ogden Nutrithon!
On Thursday, March 24 Ogden Community Public School’s Healthy Kids Team will be hosting its first ever “Nutrithon”! Students taking part in the event will learn about nutrition, healthy food and healthy lifestyle choices in a series of eight fun and engaging learning centres.
“Our students will greatly benefit from the opportunity to learn more about the importance of good nutrition,” says Christy Radbourne, Principal of Ogden Community Public School. “And a number of our senior students will have the opportunity to work on their leadership skills.”
Grade 5 and 6 Health Ambassadors have been trained by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit on eight separate topics about Health, Nutrition and Lifestyle Choices. The Health Ambassadors will then facilitate the two hour Nutrithon event for Ogden’s Grade 1 – 3 students.
The Nutrithon is part of a pilot project between Ogden Community School and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit to promote health, nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices in children.
