Radio Santa

Roger, Santa!

Westmount Public School students are pleased to welcome the members of 3 Squadron, 38 Signal Regiment as they bring Operation Santa to the school on Wednesday, December 5. The program provides the opportunity for Multi Needs/Special Needs and JK to Grade 3 students to speak to Santa via a portable 2 way radio and a communications truck.

“This is always an exciting way to kick off the holiday season for our youngest students,” says Kristi Lees, Vice Principal of Westmount Public School. “We really do appreciate the efforts of our service people and all that they do for us every day. This is a wonderful annual tradition and as always we are pleased to welcome them into our school.”
Students have already sent their letters in to Santa and he will know exactly who they are and what they have asked for this year. The service members from 3 Squadron, 38 Signal Regiment act as Santa’s helpers.

The 3 Squadron, 38 Signal Regiment’s primary goal is to provide communication support to the army and the air force domestically and abroad using both radio and satellite equipment. It is the same equipment the children will be using to talk to Santa during the holiday season.
