Poetry in Motion

On Wednesday, April 24, Westmount Public School Fine Arts Academy Grade 7 and 8 students will be transforming the Seattle Coffee House on Arthur Street into a Poetry Café! The students will be proudly reciting self-created poems to the patrons and staff of the Seattle Coffee House.

“Since so much of poetry is about the rhythm and the phrasing of the words, the only way their poems can be truly appreciated is to read them aloud,” says Michelle Furlotte, Elementary Student Success Lead. “And there could be no better way for students to celebrate their poems than to read them aloud in an authentic cafe setting.”
