A Story and a Meal to Warm Your Heart

Students from the Special Needs/Multi-Needs class at Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute volunteered to cook and serve lunch to the many volunteers helping to build the latest Habitat for Humanity home in Thunder Bay.

The home is currently being built by Habitat and has been designed for a young man with Multi-Needs and will allow the him to life with his family for as long as possible. It also provides him more opportunities to participate in activities of daily life alongside his brothers and sister.

The Special Needs/Multi-Needs class thought this would be an awesome opportunity for them to help a friend and show appreciation for the many people who are contributing to the realization of his dream.

The students prepared a large pot of chilli and corn muffins which they then delivered and served to the crew working on the home.

The family is expected to be in their new home within the next couple of months.
