16 Days of Tiger Activism

Students and staff at Westgate Collegiate and Vocational have just completed a very important effort that will greatly assist women who access Beendigen Crisis Home. The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, challenged home rooms to collect toiletries and toddler toys to support the women’s crisis shelters.

“As the students learned, many of the women and children who access the crisis services offered by Beendigen Crisis Home often leave home with what they are wearing that day and little else,” says says Carlos Santander-Maturana, Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute Student Support Professional. “This collection will greatly help the agency and the women who access the services.”

Representatives of Beendigen Crisis Home will be visiting Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute on Thursday, December 15 at 12:15 p.m. to collect the materials.
