Changing the World Together!

Saidat Vandenberg, celebrated children’s entertainer, speaker, author, singer and songwriter will be taking her high energy show to Kingsway Park Public School for Hyde Park Public School and Kingsway Park Public School students on Friday, November 27. Saidat will conduct an assemblies and hip hop workshops for students that will boost confidence, self-esteem and teach them how to survive life in the everyday world.

“One person can make a difference, together we can change the world!,” says Saidat.

Train Your Brain – Grades JK-3 Assembly
9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.
Listen! Ask! Try! These three words can help students start to develop healthy habits of the mind. In Saidat’s high energy show, “Train Your Brain’, she encourages students to believe that they can learn so much if they put their minds to it. Through music, dance and drama these young learners will be taught some active listening skills, how to ask for help and how to remember the power of the word ‘Yet’. Knowing that they are surrounded by people who care about them promotes well-being and a desire to develop skills that will help them to make positive choices. What better way to get students excited about school than through music and movement!

JK to Grade 3 Hip Hop Workshop
10:15 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.

You’re Worth It! – Grades 4-8 Assembly
11:20 a.m. to 12:20 p.m.
Saidat’s high energy show, “You’re Worth It’, will actively nourish mental health and give students keys to learning how adapt a growth mindset. With exciting music, student interaction and creative dance routines, Saidat will share her ideas on how to have the attitude of mindfulness which is being aware, acknowledging how we are feeling and knowing when to ask for help. We know that students can achieve excellence when they believe that they are supported. This is the show that will be an example of that very fact by encouraging school spirit and inclusiveness.

Grade 4 to 6 Hip Hop Workshop
1:45 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Grade 7 to 8 Hip Hop Workshop
2:30 p.m. to 3:10 p.m.
