For the Birds at Crestview

Crestview Bird SanctuaryMrs. Morrill’s Grade 1/2 class at Crestview Public School have been busy this Fall creating a bird sanctuary for local birds and small creatures.

The students helped to clear out a wooded area in the back playground which evolved quickly to an educational/environmental experience and currently serves as an outdoor classroom for the students.

Daily, the students check bird feeders to ensure that their new friends are well feed for the winter and then take a moment to observe the creatures.

Mr. Van Dynn, owner of Hill’s Greenhouses even made handmade benches for the students from a 100 year old tree. Cool stuff!
