Global Competencies through an Indigenous Perspective

On the Friday, May 4 Elementary PA Day, twenty-five Lakehead Public Schools student will be participating in a very special Makerspace at Vance Chapman Public School. The Grade 7 to 12 students will be deeply immersed in a project that explores Global Competencies through an Indigenous Perspective.

The Global Competencies include:

  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Innovation
  • Creativity and entrepreneurship
  • Learning to learn
  • Self-aware and self-directed learning
  • Collaboration
  • Communication and global citizenship

“We expect that this every special day will be filled with excitement, learning and discovery,” says Colleen Kappel, Superintendent of Education, Lakehead Public Schools. “We are very proud and excited to provide this opportunity for our students.”
