It’s a Revolution of Food!

Food RevolutionIt’s not Food Revolution Day, its Food Revolution Week at Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute! During the week of June 4 to 8, the Superior Foods Class students have been sharing information with their peers on four very important food related topics during the lunch hour. The Superior CVI Food Revolution Week will culminate on Friday, June 8 with a long table lunch.

“Our students attended an information session for Food Revolution Day at the Health Unit and they were given four topics to choose from,” says Sarah Johnston, Foods Teacher at Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute. “They couldn’t choose just one, so they chose four and made it Food Revolution Week!”

The four topics chosen by the students are:

• Empowering people and inspiring change
• Global issues, where our food comes from
• Food builds relationships
• Passing on knowledge

The Superior CVI Food Revolution Week Long Table Lunch will formally complete the week of activities. The entire school has been invited for lunch to enjoy a relationship building, open communication, device free lunch. The Foods Students will be offering wild rice soup and bannock as well as the regular cafe menu for those who want it and will encouraging people to communicate and not use cell phones.
