Last day of school: June 23rd

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to extend our gratitude to all Lakehead Public Schools families for their efforts, cooperation, and positivity during the last few months. These times have been very demanding of students, families, and staff. Nonetheless, we have seen tremendous resiliency and pride within our school communities as individuals in all schools have surmounted personal challenges and have demonstrated flexibility. Overcoming difficulties improves self-confidence, and at Lakehead Public Schools, we strive to help all students feel confident not only academically, but in all areas of their life.

This year, the last day of virtual learning instruction is being moved to Wednesday, June 23rd. This will permit school staff to gather your child’s personal items from the classroom on June 24th and 25th and have them ready for pick-up. Your child’s school will contact you directly in the coming days with instructions, including a date and time, for picking up your child’s belongings. At the time of pick-up, kindly return all Lakehead Public Schools devices that were provided to your child for virtual learning. The last day of instruction for students with special needs is also scheduled for Wednesday, June 23rd.

We are pleased to be your school board of choice. We wish you a happy and healthy summer break, and we look forward to seeing all returning students in the fall for in-person learning.

Sincerely,

Ian MacRae, Director of Education
