For the first time ever, Junior and Senior Kindergarten had the opportunity to attend the Lakehead Public Schools Summer Learning Program Kindergarten Oral Language Camp for three weeks this summer. The free camp offered each child the opportunity to develop oral language skills through fun hands-on learning each day. The camp began running on July 3 and will conclude on July 20.
“We are very pleased to offer this camp to our youngest students where they can have fun and learn in a summer camp setting,” says Donica LeBlanc, Supervising Principal – Early Years, Lakehead Public Schools. “In addition to developing critical literacy skills, the participating students also participate in daily fun physical activities with their friends throughout the three week camp.”
As they learn, students attending the Summer Learning Program Kindergarten Oral Language Camp will also:
• Work with experienced educators
• Experience a small educator to student ratio
• Enjoy field trips throughout the community
• Meet and learn from a number of guests and visitors
• Discover healthy snacks and lunches
