Edgewater Library

Little Library, Big Learning

The Grade 7 and 8 class from Edgewater Park Public School has been working together with the Grade 12 Construction Class at Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate and Vocational Institute on a community project – an outdoor little free library! The students from both schools will be installing the Little Library outside of Edgewater Park Public School on Friday, October 27.

“This was an excellent project for our Student Leadership Team to take the lead on,” says Vicki Shannon, Principal of Edgewater Park Public School. “In addition, our students were able to work with the Churchill students in a true high school shop setting. It has been a wonderful way to learn more about the options that will be available to them in secondary school.”

Students at Edgewater Park Public School have been learning about international literacy and the needs in our own community. The Edgewater Student Leadership Team also organized a book drive to help stock the library.
