New Passwords for Students in Grades 4, 5 and 6

This message is for parents/guardians of elementary students in grades 4, 5, and 6.
As of Wednesday, February 3rd, all grade 4, 5, and 6 students who have the Office 365 and Windows default “purple+month” password will have their password changed to a more complex format to increase security and optimize student account safety.
Beginning Wednesday, February 3rd, the new passwords for all students in grades 4, 5, and 6 will automatically change to the following:
Student’s first initial + last initial + a dash + the last six digits of their student number.
For example, if a student has the initials JL, and their student number is 123456789, their password will now be changed to ‘jl-456789’. Lakehead Public Schools’ computer technologists and the Computer Services Helpdesk will be standing by to assist parents and students with any issues.
