Return To Learning Update – July 24
Lakehead Public Schools would like to thank families for their questions and concerns posted on our social media channels. At this time, our FAQ https://www.lakeheadschools.ca/covid-faqs-july-22/ page reflects what we know in terms of reopening schools in the Fall. We recognize that parents have many more questions, but at this time we simply do not have enough information to fully answer them.
Yesterday, Minister of Education Stephen Lecce announced that he believes the plan for return will be unveiled next week. https://globalnews.ca/news/7210551/ontario-schools-funding-government-plan-coronavirus/
Once we receive that plan, we will be able to mobilize the planning that has happened at Lakehead Public Schools to date and better communicate the details for September, including information for students with Special Needs, remote options for parents concerned about sending their children to school, and the protocols for students and staff who show symptoms related to the COVID-19 virus.
We recognize and appreciate the frustration families are feeling at this time. We will roll out information quickly once school boards are informed of the Ministry’s plan. Thank you for your patience.
