Westmount Academy Students Sledging Along!

Westmount Public School Global Citizenship Academy will be hitting the ice and playing some sledge hockey on Thursday, March 29 at Delany Arena. The students will be trying the fast paced game after learning and following it during the recent Paralympics.

“The Global Citizenship Academy students have been learning about the sport from the perspective of inclusion and equity,” says Lisa Dampier, Westmount Public School Global Citizen Academy Teacher. “We are extremely excited to have this opportunity to work with a community partner to play this exciting sport!”

Westmount Public School Global Citizenship Academy students will learn the finer points of sledge hockey from representatives of Spinal Cord Injury Ontario prior to hitting the ice. In addition to instruction, Spinal Cord Injury Ontario will be providing the required equipment.
