An Enchanted Evening
Claude E. Garton Public School will be abuzz with excitement on Friday, June 7. The final event for the Grade 6 Montreal Exchange Group coupled with a Parent Reaching Out (PRO) Grant will make for a memorable evening for Claude E. Garton students and their families.
“We are all about families at Claude E. Garton Public School and we are so excited to have many families joining us for this wonderful evening” says Shannon Jessiman-MacArthur, Principal of Claude E. Garton Public School.
The event begins with a keynote from Dr. Jessica Carfagnini, ND, Thunder Bay Naturopathic Clinic, who will highlight the importance of families playing and learning together in active and healthy ways. Following the presentation, families will be traveling to different stations in and around the school together. Before the end of the event where there will be prizes, including books and games for families to play together.
Students have been working with the Health Unit and lead teachers, Ally Arnone and Brittney Smith on the Youth Mental Health and Addictions Champions (YMHAC) grant and they have chosen inspirational phrases to be displayed in the school. For this event, they will be painted outside the school on planters in the school garden.
The event of the evening is the Grade. 6 Montreal Exchange Potluck and Wrap-Up slideshow, where our students who have been on exchange (and are currently hosting families from Montreal) will be presenting a slideshow about their experiences and enjoying a potluck dinner with families.
