A Roaring Good Time with Tiger Mentors
On Friday, October 17, Grade 8 students from Kingsway Park Public School will be participating in an exciting mentorship music project with Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute Senior Music students. Kingsway Park Public School is a proud member of the Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute Family of Schools.
“Our senior students will work with the Kingsway students to illustrate the importance of music in schools and the rewards of having senior students mentor future students,” says Jennifer Godin, Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute Music Teacher. “Our senior students will speak about how the music program, band trips, and performances have helped them grow as students and as young adults. It will be a very fun and exciting afternoon!”
The afternoon will begin with a mini concert and then break into master classes to assist the beginner musicians. The session will finish with a combined concert with all the students involved.
Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute and Kingsway Park Public School students and staff will be present and available for interview.
