Songs for Supper

Churchill Students Sing for Shelter Supper

Students from Sir Winston Churchill Collegiate and Vocational Institute are singing for supper…not theirs, but for local families in need. During “Songs for Supper”, shoppers were serenaded by the sounds of Churchill Peer Leadership Students performing Holiday favourites in the Starbucks location in the Arthur Street Safeway on Wednesday, December 17 and Thursday, December 18. Shoppers were encouraged to support local families in need by donating funds or purchasing goods.

“The students of Churchill have a very strong commitment to our community and they firmly believe that we can all work together to make a difference,” says Ryan McDonnell, Churchill Peer Leadership Teacher. “Our students have done Songs for Supper many times before and it has proven to be valuable as a character building experience that has increased the awareness of the needs of our community.”
