Trustees Vanderwey, LeBlanc return to roles at Annual Board Meeting

THUNDER BAY, ON – Lakehead District School Board will have familiar faces as Chair and Vice-Chair after its Annual Board Meeting on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
Trustee Leah Vanderwey and Trustee Donica LeBlanc were acclaimed as Chair and Vice-Chair. This will be Vanderwey’s second year as Chair while LeBlanc has held her position since 2022.
“As we enter the second year of our 2025-29 Multi-Year Strategic Plan, I look forward to continue working collaboratively with all trustees as we reaffirm our commitment to the success of every student at Lakehead Public Schools,” said Vanderwey.
Vanderwey and LeBlanc were both elected as Trustees for Lakehead District School Board in October of 2022.
Also at the Annual Board Meeting Tuesday, Trustees were presented with the 2025 Director’s Annual Report, which highlights the accomplishments of Lakehead Public Schools over the past year. The report can be read here: https://www.lakeheadschools.ca/directors-annual-report-2025/
