Westgate CVI – Evacuation Re-Instated

Following discussions with Thunder Bay Fire Services, it has been determined that Westgate CVI will be closed for the rest of the day. Bused students will be picked up at Westmount Public School. Parents/guardians are urged to monitor local media, Board social media and website for re-opening status.

Westgate CVI Evacuation Update – Union Gas and Thunder Bay Fire Service have given the all clear for the students and staff to return to the school.

Please be advised that a potential gas leak at Westgate CVI has necessitated the evacuation of the school. Fire Department and Union Gas are on site. Buses are on the way for students so that they are not exposed to the cold as they wait for the school to be cleared. Further updates will be sent as they become available.
