Nor’wester View Cuts it Close!

Terry FoxThe Knights of Nor’wester View Public School never back down from a challenge! The students set a goal of $2,600 to be raised for the Terry Fox Run. A challenge was issued if the goal was surpassed. And guess what? The goal was surpassed – $3,775.00 was raised! The challenge may involve someone losing some hair for a good cause.

“And now it gets interesting for the students and a certain music teacher,” says Janice Hill, Nor’wester View Public School Teacher. “In all seriousness, the challenge will go a long way in helping cancer patients as they go through treatment.”

As part of the deal, Music Teacher Jon Hotson will have his pony tail cut and donate it to make wigs for cancer patients through the Procter and Gamble and Canadian Cancer Society’s Campaign “Pantene Beautiful Lengths Campaign”. Grade 5 student Jacy Bonazzo had cut her hair earlier for the campaign and her hair will be added to the donation.

Frank Romeo from Hair Infinity Salon will be cutting the hair at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20 at a special school assembly.
