Haunted Halloween

Things that Go Bump in the Day

Ghosts, ghouls, goblins and other ghastly apparitions that normally go bump in the night will be making a daytime appearance at Westmount Public School on Wednesday, October 31! Students in the Westmount Public School Fine Arts Academy have been working for the past month on creating a haunted classroom for their fellow students to enjoy on Halloween.

The haunted classroom was a very intensive month long project that saw our students expand and refine their literacy skills as they wrote their own haunted narratives and submitted proposals for their projects,” says Laura Bijzak, Teacher at Westmount Public School. “Once the projects were accepted, the students then had had to design and create advertisements and announcements to promote their projects.”

Some of the projects in the Westmount Public School Haunted Classroom include:

  • Halloween sculptures
  • Moss covered tombstones
  • Halloween paintings
  • Bat mobiles (mobiles, not the Batmobile!)
  • Pumpkin archway
  • Spooky signs

The students will also be using their new spook-tacular make up skills to add even more Halloween flavor into the day!
