International Students Visit Fort

On Wednesday, May 17, close to 30 Lakehead Public Schools International Students participated in programs at Old Fort William Historical Park, in partnership with Thunder Bay Multicultural Association. The international secondary students participated in a number of activities as they continued to bond with fellow students from across the city.

“Some of the students took part in History on the Menu where they had to prepare food using equipment available in 1816 and the other half participated in Playing with Time, where they participated in games of the fur trade,” says Sari Johnston, Secondary Teacher of English Language Learners, Lakehead Public Schools. “This was a wonderful opportunity for the students to learn about local history and to get to know other international students.”

The participating Lakehead Public Schools students included International Students from Thailand, Syria, Spain, China, Korea, Nepal, France, Mexico and Jordan.
