Class of 2020

Hitting the Road to Celebrate Graduates

With COVID 19 impacting all school activities including graduations, secondary school staff and administration have had to use their creativity and ingenuity to ensure that graduates are honoured and recognized for their accomplishments. Staff and administration from all three secondary schools will be hitting the road to celebrate their graduates during the week of June 15.

“With the postponement of secondary school graduations, it is important that we made a plan to recognize and celebrate the achievements of all graduates,” says Michelle Probizanski, Superintendent of Education. “Staff and administration at all three secondary schools have worked incredibly hard during this difficult time to put this plan into action.”

Beginning Tuesday, June 16 graduating students form Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute, Hammarskjold High School and Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute will receive special home visits from school staff to celebrate their academic milestones. Students will be presented with Class of 2020 Grad Lives Here lawn signs, caps and gowns, diplomas, awards and bursaries (as applicable) and other surprises.
