Welcome, current and future Lakehead Public Schools parents and guardians!
It is our pleasure to welcome you to our school board. We look forward to registering your child for Kindergarten and sharing fun and exciting learning experiences with them. Children turning 4 years old in 2021 can be registered for Kindergarten and will start school in September 2021! Click here to register for Kindergarten 2021!
Our WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN VIRTUAL EVENT is taking place February 1st at 6:30PM via our website!
Lakehead Public Schools is hosting a fun and interactive virtual event for you and your future-Kindergartener on February 1st at 6:30PM via our website! Join us with your child for a book reading of The Kissing Hand by a Kindergarten teacher and an early childhood educator, and participate in an interactive activity! You’ll need the Welcome To Kindergarten bag, so keep reading!
FREE WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN BAGS FOR EVERYONE!
Whether you have already registered your child for Kindergarten with us, or if you are interested in registering your child, pick up your FREE Welcome To Kindergarten bag at any of our elementary schools on Thursday, January 28th and Friday, January 29th, during school hours (9AM-3PM) to receive the following:
- Your child’s own copy of The Kissing Hand, by Audrey Penn, to follow along during the virtual book reading on February 1st at 6:30PM
- Materials for the interactive follow-along activity on February 1st at 6:30PM
- Your child’s own kid-sized Class of 2035 graduation T-shirt
On February 1st, new and informative VIDEOS will be launched on our website so you can meet us and see how we take your child’s health and safety seriously. Until then, watch our Kindergarten at Lakehead Public Schools video!

All children who have been registered for Kindergarten by midnight Sunday, February 7th will be entered into a draw to win a fantastic PRIZE! Click here to register for Kindergarten 2021 and be automatically entered into the draw! If you have already registered your child for Kindergarten, congratulations, you have automatically been entered into the draw!
DOUBLE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING A PRIZE! Once you’ve picked up your child’s Welcome To Kindergarten bag at one of our schools, post a photo of your child wearing their Class of 2035 T-shirt and tag us on Facebook (@LakeheadSchools), Instagram (@lakeheadschools), or use #LPStb on Twitter to be entered into the draw to win a prize! If you’re unable to pick up your child’s free Welcome To Kindergarten bag during school hours, please contact communications@lakeheadschools.ca to make alternate arrangements.
Prizes include a Code & Go Robot Mouse (2 to give away!), Munschworks – a collection of Robert Munsch stories (4 to give away!), or the GRAND PRIZE… a brand new iPad Mini!
