Lakehead District School Board welcomes Patti-Jo Pesola-Brunton to new role

THUNDER BAY, ON – July 16, 2025- Lakehead District School Board is pleased to welcome Patti-Jo Pesola-Brunton as Superintendent of Education – Math Lead.
“I am excited to continue my education in a senior leadership role, supporting the success of Lakehead Public Schools students,” Pesola-Brunton said.
“I look forward to contributing to an educational experience that is committed to Northwestern Ontario and the success of every student.”
An educator with the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board for more than 26 years, Pesola-Brunton has experience in a variety of roles at both the elementary and secondary level. Currently a centrally assigned principal overseeing Early Years, literacy, the New Teacher Induction Program and Summer Learning, she is a graduate of Lakehead University and is pursuing a Masters of Education from Mount Saint Vincent University.
“Patti-Jo brings a wealth of experience in education that will play a key role in our efforts to uphold the pillars outlined in our board’s multi-year strategic plan,” said Lakehead District School Board Director of Education Sherri-Lynne Pharand. “We would like to welcome Patti-Jo to Lakehead Public Schools and know she will be an incredible addition to our team.”
