Local Dogs Getting a “Woof” Over Their Heads

The intrepid students of the Westmount Global Citizen Academy have joined forces with the highly skilled Grade 9 Construction students at Westgate Collegiate and Vocational Institute to do some good for local dogs. The students from Westmount and Westgate worked together to design and build doghouses for Thunder Bay Animal Services.

“My Global Citizen Academy students went on a tour of Animal Services and they noticed that they needed some shelters for the dogs when they were outside,” says Lisa Dampier, Westmount Public School Global Citizen Academy Teacher. “And like the true Global Citizens that they are, they came up with a plan to work with the Westgate students to construct the doghouses.”

A representative from the Animal Services will be in attendance at Westgate CVI to receive the doghouses on Friday, December 22 at 1:00 p.m.
