New Indigenous Trustee

Lakehead Public Schools would like to welcome and introduce our new Indigenous Trustee, Scottie Wemigwans.
Scottie Wemigwans studied Entrepreneurship and Business Accounting at Confederation College. He moved on to Trent University to continue his education in Business/Finance. Over the past years Scottie has enjoyed a career in the finance field. He has worked at several organizations such as Fort William First Nation, A.R.C.O. and Wasaya Group Inc. Scottie currently is the Area Financial Controller for the Days Inn Thunder Bay.
Scottie and his wife Danielle are the proud parents of 2 children who attend school within the Lakehead Public School Board. He and his family have strong community ties. He has coached and was a board member of the Norwest Minor Hockey Association. He is chair of the finance committee for his local church. Mr. Wemigwans is looking forward to representing all Nishnawbe families who reside within the Fort William First Nation territory.
Scottie Wemigwans will be formally introduced and inducted at our upcoming board meeting on Tuesday, July 28th, at 4:30PM.
