Our Community in 1,000 Words

Students from Kingsway Park Public School Learning Academy will be using photography to express their emotions as they become more mindfully aware of the world around them. For the second year, the students are participating in the Thousand Words project, an initiative by Ecole Gron Morgan Public School teacher William Gross.

“This year, the Academy students will be connecting the Thousand Word project to the theme of “Our Thunder Bay” which will feature images of our great city from a youth perspective,” says Darren Lentz, Principal of Kingsway Park Public School. “The students from the three Intermediate Academy classes from will connect their wellness to the wellness of our community and how the image of our community can effect positive outcomes of mental wellness in ourselves.”

Each class has chosen one of the three themes – Urban, Rural and Landmarks of Thunder Bay. Following photography training, each class travel by bus to catch images of “Our Thunder Bay” in their perspective areas.
