Superior Touchdown with Nissan

Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute is looking to drive to the end zone with the help of the Nissan Kickoff Project. The school was chosen to receive motivational and financial support through the automaker’s football program, run in partnership with the Canadian Football League, to rejuvenate the Gryphon Football Program. Superior Students and staff will learn about the program at a special spirit assembly on Friday, October 28.
“We are excited about this support from Nissan Canada through the Kickoff Program,” says Michelle Probizanski, Principal of Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute. “We are hoping to reinstate the football program back to its rightful place with our other proud and successful Superior Gryphon teams.”
The three year old Kick Off Project provides the support needed to play football including financial funding, equipment, uniforms and motivational events. It is expected that the program will assist almost 1,200 students in 26 schools from coast to coast.
According to a news release from Nissan Canada, “the Nissan Kickoff Project assists high schools that have the passion for the game but are in need of resources to participate in football. Schools are then chosen in areas where Nissan dealers and, where possible, the CFL and its teams are able to take part at a crucial local level. For the program’s third year, more than 25 Nissan dealerships and four CFL teams, including the B.C. Lions, Edmonton Eskimos, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, are expected to participate on varying levels.”
